VALOR Terrorism-Related Officer Safety Strategies

Nashville, Tennessee · August 10, 2017

About the Training

Terrorists/violent criminal extremists (VCEs) pose a threat to state, local, and tribal law enforcement officers.  Whether they are planning and gathering materials, conducting surveillance on potential targets, or practicing the skills needed to carry out an attack, their activities impact law enforcement agencies.  As a result, state, local, and tribal law enforcement officers may encounter a terrorist/VCE while carrying out their routine duties.

The Terrorism-Related Officer Safety Strategies workshop will address the following topics:

  • The current officer safety threat presented by terrorists/VCEs
  • Recognizing behavioral indicators exhibited by terrorists/VCEs to increase officer safety
  • Officer safety preparedness strategies and resources
  • Terrorism mitigation strategies and officer resiliency
