    Overview

    This 2-day, in-person, cutting-edge training event provides sworn officers at all levels with critical essentials and foundational concepts to not only survive, but to thrive throughout their careers. Through experience, research, and micro case studies, the program drives home the critical importance of being physically and mentally prepared, maintaining sustained situational awareness, combating complacency, and remaining vigilant throughout every tour of duty.

    ·        The Safety Mindset—Building preparedness, operational readiness, and optimal performance.

    Additional topics covered throughout the course include professionalism, individual leadership, and critical decision-making.

     

    Training will be held October 20-21, 2026, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., ET, with a 1-hour break for lunch (on your own).

     

    Certificate of completion for 16 hours available

     

    This continuing education activity is approved by the International Association of Directors of Law Enforcement Standards and Training (IADLEST) and deemed valid for the purpose of in-service training credits with all participating states within the United States.

No. This training is funded by BJA and is free to any sworn law enforcement officer. However, travel, lodging, and per diem costs are the responsibility of the attendee or the attendee’s agency.
Yes. Depending on the location of the training and the state’s law enforcement training authority, state law enforcement credit may be available.
This training is strictly classroom-based. Appropriate dress is business casual or uniform, if required by your agency.
While this training is primarily for state, local, and tribal officers, federal law enforcement officers may be admitted on a space-available basis.

WITHHOLDING CONSENT OF USE OF MY LIKENESS—By selecting this, and in participating in this event for which I have registered, I am withholding my consent to the intentional use of my likeness as described above. I will be issued a color-coded registration document identification indicating that I do not agree to my likeness being captured by video or photographed. I understand that I may be asked to sit in a designated area of the instructional/presentation area and that it is my responsibility to avoid placing myself in the field of vision of any photography or video efforts occurring throughout the program, including breaks.
