    Overview:

    As a leader, you have a critical role in supporting officer safety and wellness in your agency and community. The VALOR Safer Together Command-Level Forum provides actionable skills and strategies your officers can use to enhance their overall safety and wellness and develop positive, healthy community relationships, one interaction at a time.

     

    Morning Session Topics:

     

    · Be a role model for your people.

    · Remember why you serve.

    · Address challenging perceptions.

    · Recognize the impacts of community climate on your people.

     

    Afternoon Session Topics:

     

    · Change community perceptions using value-added and plus-one interactions.

    · Implement Safer Together strategies into your agency’s culture and measure their success.

    · Be part of the solution and take the Safer Together Challenge.

     

    Training will be held October 8, 2024 from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., ET, with a one-hour break for lunch (on your own).

     

    Certificate of completion for 8 hours available

     

    This continuing education activity is approved by the International Association of Directors of Law Enforcement Standards and Training (IADLEST) and deemed valid for the purpose of In-Service training credits with all participating states within the United States.

No. This training is funded by BJA and is free to any sworn law enforcement officer. However, travel, lodging, and per diem costs are the responsibility of the attendee or the attendee’s agency.
Yes. Depending on the location of the training and the state’s law enforcement training authority, state law enforcement credit may be available.
This training is strictly classroom-based. Appropriate dress is business casual or uniform, if required by your agency.
While this training is primarily for state, local, and tribal officers, federal law enforcement officers may be admitted on a space-available basis.
