    Overview:

    The safety and readiness of the officers on your watch depend on your leadership. The Mid-Level Leadership Workshop prepares mid-level law enforcement leaders to champion officer safety, improve readiness, and lead organizational change from within.

     

    This one-day, no-cost workshop, facilitated by subject-matter experts, is an event that: 

    ü  Addresses leadership strategies.

    ü  Examines causes of officer assaults, injuries, and deaths.

    ü  Explores critical officer resilience issues.

    ü  Discusses protocols and best practices.

    ü  Discusses setting a safety precedent and accountability.

    ü  Illustrates actionable opportunities to increase safety and readiness.

     

    Training will be held September 30, 2026, from 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., ET, with a one-hour break for lunch (on your own).

     

    Certificate of completion for 8 hours available

     

    This continuing education activity is approved by the International Association of Directors of Law Enforcement Standards and Training (IADLEST) and deemed valid for the purpose of in-service training credits with all participating states within the United States.

No. This training is funded by BJA and is free to any sworn law enforcement officer. However, travel, lodging, and per diem costs are the responsibility of the attendee or the attendee’s agency.
Yes. Depending on the location of the training and the state’s law enforcement training authority, state law enforcement credit may be available.
This training is strictly classroom-based. Appropriate dress is business casual or uniform, if required by your agency.
While this training is primarily for state, local, and tribal officers, federal law enforcement officers may be admitted on a space-available basis.

CONSENT FOR USE OF MY LIKENESS—By selecting this, and in participating in this event for which I have registered, I consent for the Institute for Intergovernmental Research (IIR) and its agents to photograph or video my likeness for use in future instructional, promotional, and/or other multimedia applications. I understand that any such activity and effort by IIR and its agents will be pursuant to objectives described in the underlying federal grant awards financing the effort and that end products will be used for instructional and similar efforts consistent with the grant objectives. The use of my likeness is allowed without compensation to me and is permitted throughout the period of time any product produced by IIR as described above is utilized for criminal justice purposes. WITHHOLDING CONSENT OF USE OF MY LIKENESS—By selecting this, and in participating in this event for which I have registered, I am withholding my consent to the intentional use of my likeness as described above. I will be issued a color-coded registration document identification indicating that I do not agree to my likeness being captured by video or photographed. I understand that I may be asked to sit in a designated area of the instructional/presentation area and that it is my responsibility to avoid placing myself in the field of vision of any photography or video efforts occurring throughout the program, including breaks. I understand that my likeness may nevertheless inadvertently appear in future instructional, promotion, and/or other multimedia applications for criminal justice purposes created by IIR or its agents, such as inclusion in a large audience scene or similar use not focusing specifically on my likeness and agree to hold IIR and its agents harmless for any such inadvertent use.
